Follow along here at Beyond Women’s Sports for the weekly attendance updates in the NWSL. This is the 12th report for the 2024 season, as the regular season began on March 16. The numbers reported below are up to and including all games through games on June 30. The NWSL saw an increase in teams for 2024 with the return of the Utah Royals and the expansion team Bay FC. The league is not expected to expand for the 2025 season.
NWSL Attendance: Week in Review
This previous week saw San Diego with the largest attendance with 24,115 on Friday, June 28. Gotham FC had the smallest crowd with 7,064 on Sunday, June 30. Angel City FC also had another sellout on June 30 with 22,000 fans. For this week the NWSL averaged 13,881, up from the previous week of 11,513.
At this point in the season, only two teams are below their 2023 final average (San Diego and Seattle). The largest increase from last season is still Chicago (+3,469). This is followed by the Washington Spirit (2,503) and then NY/NJ Gotham FC (+2,158). Overall, the league is still up slightly from last season by 389 fans.
Capacity numbers are provided by each team’s individual stadium’s website. Also reported are each team’s individual high and low games for the season. Finally, all attendance numbers are provided through the ESPN box scores and @NwslNotes on Twitter.

The Week Ahead
The NWSL will once again have 7 games scheduled for this weekend. The ION featured double-header on Saturday will see Orlando at Kansas City (7:30 pm) followed by Gotham FC at Angel City FC (10:00 pm).
