The numbers reported below are up to and including all games through games on May 19. The NWSL saw an increase in teams for 2024 with the return of the Utah Royals and the expansion team Bay FC. The league is not expected to expand for the 2025 season.
NWSL Attendance: Week in Review
The past week had the second-lowest weekly attendance for the current season. Only three games out of seven played had crowds of over 10,000. However, the league did not have any weeknight games. The lowest-attended game belongs to the Courage (4,528) while the expansion team Bay FC had the largest crowd (16,930). Finally, the league’s overall average has now fallen below the final average in 2023 (-79).
Seattle, San Diego, Portland, and Chicago are still below their final averages from 2023. The Reign FC are currently well below their 2023 final average (-6,194). Meanwhile, Racing Louisville FC has the largest increase from last season (+1,633). Finally, The Kansas City Current had their fifth straight sell-out of the season.

The Week Ahead
The NWSL kicks off this week on Thursday, May 23 with San Diego at Angel City FC (10:00 pm, CBS Sports Network). The ION double-header on Saturday features Racing Louisville FC at Chicago (7:30 pm) followed by the league-leading Kansas City Current traveling to face the Utah Royals.
