A Great Week Three of AU Pro Basketball is in the Books

As the final week of Season Four in AU Pro Basketball is on the horizon, the action from this roster has been nothing short of phenomenal. Fans watching live, on television, or via the WNBA or ESPN+ app have not been disappointed. Games 17 and 18 were decided by less than 10 points as the leaderboard takes shape. That being said, here’s a recap of the final doubleheader of Season Four.

Game 17: A Tight One in AU Pro Basketball

In this game, forward Isabelle Harrison and Team Blue were in search of their first win of the week versus fellow forward Maya Caldwell and Team Purple. Harrison’s squad won the first quarter but both teams tied in the second frame. Team Purple faced a 39-32 deficit at halftime as they were down by 15 in that second quarter.

However, Caldwell’s team found its rhythm in the third quarter, outscoring Team Blue 30-20, winning the game by an 82-79 score. The 15-point comeback by Team Caldwell is the biggest comeback victory of this AU Pro Basketball season. As for Team Harrison, the week ended on a low note as they went 0-3 but guard Bria Hartley was the MVP 2 of the game. Hartley scored 20 points, going 57.1% from the field.

Harrison put up 17 points while grabbing nine rebounds, her seventh 15+ point game in eight contests. Teammates Lexie Brown had 16 points and five assists while forward Alissa Pili scored 10 points for Team Harrison.

Shifting to Caldwell and Team Purple, forward Alysha Clark notched MVP 1 honors, and guard Tyasha Harris MVP 3. Clark had 16 points with eight boards as Harris led the team in scoring with 20 points. Also, guard Dyaisha Fair put up 11 points as Caldwell added 10 points for her team. Her team finished the week with a record of 2-1.

Game 18: A Battle Atop the AU Pro Basketball Leaderboard

Without question, the final game of Week Three was all about the top two players on the leaderboard. Forward Maddy Siegrist and Team Orange squared off against Team Gold, led by guard Odyssey Sims. Things looked rocky for Siegrist’s team as they trailed following the first quarter by a. 22-12 score.

Like Game 17, a deficit was overcome as Team Orange won the final three quarters, winning 84-76 over Team Gold. The 16-point comeback overtook the 15-point comeback by Team Caldwell in Game 17 as Siegrist is now 5-1 as a captain in her AU Pro Basketball career.

Siegrist was the MVP 1 as she scored 29 points with nine caroms. She has taken home MVP honors in nine consecutive contests, tied for the most in league history.

Crystal Bradford of Team Siegrist collected double-double No. 13 of her career in the league with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She was named the MVP 2 of the game as well, Lastly, forward G’mrice Davis completed the MVP sweep for Team Orange, getting MVP 3 honors. Davis had 10 boards along with eight points. Guard Shey Peddy upped her streak of 10+ point games to five, scoring 12 points.

Sims led her squad in scoring with 28 points, her amazing 37th such game with at least 20 points. Guard Evina Westbrook scored 21 points as Kierstan Bell put up 16 in this loss.

Week Four Captains

The final captains of Season Four have been captains previously this season. Siegrist will be the captain for the third straight week, this time leading Team Gold. Sims will helm another team for the second consecutive week as she will lead Team Orange. Like Sims, Bradford and Harris will captain for another week, leading Teams Blue and Purple respectively.

All things considered, it looks like a two-player race to become the Season Four AU Pro Basketball champion between Siegrist and Sims. Check out all of the action in the final week of action on ESPN+, the WNBA app, FanDuel Sports Network, or in person at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
