Aces Beat Storm 110-98 in Overtime

It was a game for the ages; the Las Vegas Aces beat the Seattle Storm in overtime 110-98. This game had a little of everything big-time shots, buzzer beaters, and more.

Seattle was leading 92-90 before Jackie Young sent the game into overtime with a basket at the buzzer. In overtime, the Aces outscored the Storm 18-6 behind eight Chelsea Gray points in the overtime period.

Aces

A’ja Wilson played outstanding for the Aces scoring 34 points on a 14-20 shooting from the field. She also added 11 rebounds and three steals. “We live for these moments. You work hard for these bright light games and just staying in it and understanding that we’ve worked hard to get to where we are,” said Aces’ star A’ja Wilson.

Gray added 29 points on 12-21 shooting, made 5-9 three-point shots, and dished out 12 assists. Gray has always been a big-time player, and it showed in this game; she got her points and got her teammates involved.

“There was so many back and forth (moments), ‘Oh they’re gonna win it, oh no they’re gonna win it, oh we’re going to overtime.’ … That’s what playoff basketball is all about. It felt good,” Gray said.

Kelsey Plum scored 16 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists. Off the bench, Riquna Williams 14 points with four three-pointers made. Las Vegas shot 52.5% from the field and 42.9% from three-point land. They did a great job outrebound Seattle 46-31.

Storm

Seattle had six players score in double figures, with Breanna Stewart leading them with 20 points while adding 15 rebounds and six assists. Sue Bird and Jewel Loyd had 17 points; Bird had eight assists. In 29 minutes, Tina Charles had 16 points.

Stephanie Talbot had 12 points off the bench for Seattle, and Ezi Magbegor added 12 points. The Storm shot 48.1% from the field and 37% from beyond the arc. Seattle came back after being down 15 but gave up a layup at the buzzer and could not recover in overtime.
