All things considered, Athletes Unlimited Basketball has given fans something to cheer for early on in Week Two. NaLyssa Smith has been impressive while Isabelle (Izzy) Harrison is returning to form. What’s more, Odyssey Sims’ team is picking up from where they left off last week. That being said, let’s take a look at the start of Week Two with Games Seven and Eight.
Game Seven: Smith shines in her first game as captain in a close win over Team Harrison
Team Smith defeated Team Harrison by a score of 86 – 84 after outscoring Harrison’s squad 34 – 23 in the fourth quarter. Smith’s squad went 11 of 16 (68.8%) from the field in the final quarter. In all, Smith had another double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Guards Kelsey Mitchell and Sydney Colson contributed with 20 points and 16 points, respectively. Mitchell has scored at least 10 points in all 15 games of her Athletes Unlimited career.
Despite the close loss, Harrison led all scorers with 40 points while nabbing 12 boards. The Chicago Sky forward has nine 20-point performances in her 19 career Athletes Unlimited Basketball games, counting three this season. Courtney Willams put up 19 points and five assists while forward Jasmine Walker contributed 13 points and six caroms for Team Harrison.
Game Eight: Team Sims pulls out a tight one over Team Hillmon
As mentioned earlier, Sims and her team find themselves in the win column to start Week Two. The Connecticut Sun guard scored 31 points, hitting 55.6 % of her three-pointers. It is her fourth career 30-point game in Athletes Unlimited Basketball.
However, guard Lexie Hull made a major contribution for Team Sims, scoring 21 points while getting nine rebounds. Additionally, guards Jordin Canada and Kierstan Bell scored double-figures in the win.

Canada had 12 points, seven rebounds, and eight dimes as Bell scored 15 points with seven assists for Team Sims. Naz Hillmon had 17 points and 13 rebounds for her team in the loss. Guard Layshia Clarendon scored 18 points for Hillmon’s squad. Also, guard Allisha Gray extended her consecutive double-digit scoring streak to four games following a 17-point effort. Forward Theresa Plaisance had 13 points and nine boards.
It’s important to note that Team Sims and Team Hillmon hit 15 combined shots from downtown, increasing the league’s season total to 115 through eight games.
