AU Basketball Heads to Nashville for the 2025 Season

All things considered, Nashville, Tennessee is the home of country music and in 2025, it will host the fourth season of Athletes Unlimited Basketball. Before Nashville, Dallas hosted the previous two seasons in 2023 and 2024 while Las Vegas did so in 2021.

Megan Perry, Director of Basketball for Athletes Unlimited on the significance of having the 2025 AU Basketball season in the city:

“The city of Nashville has been so enthusiastic and welcoming to us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball to Music City. Tennessee has long been a hotbed for women’s basketball as the home of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and its rich history at the collegiate level. We’re excited to bring a roster full of elite professional talent on the court and on the sidelines back to fans in the region.”

Last season, Olympic Gold medalist and Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray took home the crown over current Los Angeles Sparks guard Odyssey Sims. Moreover, many WNBA players participated in the league. This includes Phoenix Mercury star Natasha Cloud, Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, and Sims’ teammate Lexie Brown.

Additionally, Brown is currently in her second year as Chairperson of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball’s Player Executive Committee. Two-time WNBA champion, Las Vegas Aces guard Sydney Colson, served as Chairperson for the first two seasons.

What Fans In Nashville Can Expect Watching AU Basketball

In this case, AU Pro Basketball features a variety of scoring innovations to give athletes and fans a special and intense version of the sport while showcasing a traditional full-court five-on-five format. Individual athletes earn points based on both team wins and singular performance to become the champions in team sports. Points are earned on all plays and the leaderboard will be moving at a rapid rate.

Also, teams shift weekly with the top four athletes in the standings becoming captains and drafting their teams. At the conclusion of the season, the player with the most points will become the league’s champion. Without question, there is a good chance that Nashville will see some WNBA stars once again. The four-week, 24-game season runs from February 5 to March 2, 2025.
