As Season Three of AU Hoops kicks off Week Three, the points are still coming in bunches. The defense is there but the offense had other plans in the doubleheader. Once again, all four talented teams eclipsed the 100-point mark. Fans in Dallas were treated to games that were decided by a combined five points. That being said, here is a recap of Games 13 and 14 of the season.
Game 13: Team Cloud and Team Mitchell with an instant classic
All things considered, Natasha Cloud and Tiffany Mitchell‘s squads left it all on the court to open Week Three. First, Isabelle Harrison hit two free throws to tie the game at 90 apiece with 15 seconds left in regulation. The seventh overtime game in AU Hoops history saw Cloud and her team get the 105 – 101 victory. Harrison took home MVP 1 honors as she accounted for all 41 of Team Cloud’s bench points while 13 boards. It was the sixth 40-point game in Harrison’s AU Basketball career.
Cloud did her part with a double-double as she scored 17 points with 13 dimes in the win, garnering MVP 3 honors. Additionally, Laeticia Amihere contributed with 21 points and 10 caroms as Rae Burrell had 15 points in 35 minutes of action.

Like Harrison, Zia Cooke scored all of the bench points for her squad as she had 32 points on her way to becoming MVP 2 of the game for Team Mitchell. Mitchell did well with 24 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in a losing effort. Maddy Siegrist got a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards for Team Mitchell. It is important to note that both teams combined for 55 assists, the most in a game since February 2022.
Game 14: Team Sims wins the close battle over Team Gray in AU Hoops action
This game came down to the buzzer as Angel McCoughtry became the hero with a tip-in with one second left in the game. It gave Odyssey Sims and her team the 106 – 105 victory as the team captain notched 20 points with ten dimes. The star guard took home MVP 3 honors for her effort. Kierstan Bell reached the 20-point plateau, her fourth time and her third straight game doing so.
Despite the losing effort, Allisha Gray led her team with 38 points as she shot 61.9 percent from the field. She also had 10 rebounds en route to MVP 1 honors as it was just the eighth time in AU Hoops history a player on the losing team got the honor. Kelsey Mitchell got MVP 2 thanks to her 31 points as she went 8-of-14 from beyond the arc. Overall, 25 three-pointers were drained between both squads, the second-most in league history.
