AUX Softball Delivered Some Grand Performances

Unquestionably, AUX Softball has been fun to watch for fans with the runs and pitching efforts. Games Nine and Ten exemplify the above statement as we saw a former champion come in clutch and a rookie dominant in the circle. That being said, here are the recaps for games nine and ten of Series Two.

Game Nine: Team Leach rolled to a 13 – 3 victory over Team Filler

In this instance, Aubrey Leach’s squad had a nearly flawless game, winning at the plate and in the circle. Morgan Zerkle and Sis Bates led Team Leach with three RBIs apiece. Danielle Gibson and Jordan Roberts each drove in two runs as well. What’s more, the team tied the AUX Softball record with 18 hits in the game. In all, eight players had at least two hits.

Aliyah Andrews and Mia Davidson had three hits with one being a homer from Davidson in the third inning. It was Davidson’s third long ball of the season. Megan Faraimo got her second win, throwing six-and-a-third innings while allowing seven hits with two strikeouts.

As for Andrea Filler’s team, the positives were Amanda Lorenz and Megan Wiggins, who had two hits each and an RBI. Also, Anissa Urtez supplied the other for Team Filler.

Here, Nadia Taylor’s team was down 4 – 0 in the top of the seventh as a loss seemed inevitable. However, they put across seven runs in the inning, tying the mark for the most runs in an inning in AUX’s history. First, Caleigh Clifton added the team’s first run with a single. The next pair of RBIs came from Taylor and Victoria Hayward, respectively via walks.

Finally, last year’s champion, Dejah Mulipola broke the game wide open with a no-doubter to clear the bases. It sealed the victory and one of the more memorable comebacks in league history.

Moreover, Georgina Corrick threw six innings for Team Taylor, striking out six batters and allowing four hits.
Team Filler had three players with multiple hits in Filler, Lorenz, and Rachel Garcia in the loss. Furthermore, all three each had an RBI along with Lilli Piper.
