Banks and Naomi Exit Show in Surprising Move

Sasha Banks and Naomi left Scope Arena during Monday Night Raw in a shocking move. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions exited the arena in Norfolk, Virginia. Per WWE, the tag team champions arrived at the arena and were informed they were to take part in the main event of “Monday Night Raw.”

That being said, the match that was supposed to take place had Banks, Naomi, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. In this case, all six superstars were going to participate in a match to decide the next challenger to face the RAW Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair, at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

However, Banks and Naomi reportedly had a major problem who was supposed to win the matchup: Naomi. Banks reportedly took up her concerns straight to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. But, all things considered, he made the call not to alter the creative direction.

Moreover, it was also reported that Banks and Naomi’s issues were specifically focused on presenting plans for both as tag team champions. Neither one had a problem with the women they were scheduled to work with on Monday.

Later on, the company came out with a statement. It said the tag team champs put their belts on the desk and proceeded to walk out of the arena:

My Thoughts on the Banks/Naomi Ordeal

Firstly, my thoughts are based on the various reports out there about the situation. If it’s true that team Boss Glow (Banks and Naomi) were upset about the match outcome, I’m on their side. While I don’t condone walking out of your workplace, both had a right to do so.

By all means, I want to see Belair and Naomi compete in the ring. Yet, it does nothing from a creative stance to have that match.

WWE trusted Banks and Naomi with the tag team titles to elevate them. In addition, the goal was to build a women’s tag team division that has felt non-existent. Having Naomi face Belair takes away from that. Summing up, this ordeal became public, which isn’t a great look, kayfabe or not, for WWE.
