The win streak is now six and the Aces are 7-2. Las Vegas Aces beat the Minnesota Lynx 87-77 in last night’s game. This win seemed convincing, and the team is finally coming together as one. To answer the question, yes, the Aces can keep their winning streak going with this energy, style of play, and everyone contributing.
Las Vegas Aces
Even though the Aces were trailing early in the first quarter, they found a way to come back and close the quarter on an 8-2 run. The unfortunate happens, and Sylvia Fowles went down in the first couple of minutes of the game with an apparent re-injured right calf. That hurt the Lynx at the end. The Aces shooting helped them secure the win with 48.6% from the field. What also helped the Aces win was the Lynx 19 turnovers, which resulted in 24 points for the Aces.
Key factors and players for the Las Vegas Aces to keep their winning streak going are the following:
Kayla McBride – needs to keep her energy and urgency going like she did last night. Kayla is an important factor for the team not only scoring but putting pressure defensively. McBride tied her career-high with 5 steals. The Aces are not the best defensive team in the league. However, they need players like Kayla to step up defensively in order to be a threat.
Dearica Hamby – Hamby has been great coming off the bench for the Aces; she continues to do her job and that is hustling for every rebound, helping her team on the defensive side, contributing on offense, and giving the team energy in the second unit. Alongside Kayla, she helped contribute in steals with 3 steals for the game. On top of that Hamby is averaging 11.7 points in the wubble season.
Danielle Robinson – Robinson has surprised me this season coming off the bench. Danielle has been one of the key players for the Aces and the reason for their winning streak. She can score, help her team rebound, a facilitator, and banking a 48% from the field, and having an 85.7% FT for the year tells you everything about Danielle and the Aces. Three of the reasons the Aces can keep their winning streak going.

The Aces players were all over last night’s leaderboard. From A’ja Wilson‘s 23 points to Angel McCoughtry 21 points. Now, let’s go to the assists leaderboard with Lindsay Allen taking the number one spot with 7 assists. And let’s go back to Ms. Wilson’s season-high 4 block shots. McCoughtry added 3 steals for the game. Let’s end up with Kayla’s 7 free throws made. As you can see the Aces had an overall amazing game.
If everyone contributes like they did last night they can keep the winning streak going. However, as we know not every game is perfect as it was last night. The one factor the Aces need to strive for is their energy from the jump of the game and that will set the tone for the rest of the game.
