All things considered, Season Three of AU Basketball has pushed the limits of the records while making some history in the process. It is the season of the guard as the position currently occupies the top four spots in the leaderboard. That could all change as the season nears its end in the Lone Star State. That said, here is a recap of Games 21 and 22.
Game 21: Team Bell Wins over Team Sims in AU Basketball Action
Kierstan Bell and her team found the rhythm from three-point land, going 15-of-31 in the 93 – 78 victory. Bell took home MVP honors for the sixth time in her last seven games as she was the MVP 1 with 24 points and five rebounds. Teammate Kelsey Mitchell amassed MVP 2 honors thanks to her 23 points and shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. The MVP 3 honor went to Sydney Colson as she scored 13 points with 12 assists for Team Bell.
Zia Cooke reached double-digits in points with 14 points in 31 minutes of action for Bell’s squad. Additionally, Emily Engstler continued her dominance on the glass with 18 caroms, tying the AU Basketball record for a single game. She has 10+ rebounds in four straight games, averaging almost 14 boards during that stretch.
Despite the loss, Odyssey Sims became just the second player in AU Hoops history to have two triple-doubles in a single season. Sims had 23 points, 10 caroms, and 10 dimes in a stellar performance at the Fair Park Coliseum.

Game 22: Team Gray and Team Cloud Came Down to the Wire
As the first game of the doubleheader was a blowout, the second game came with some intrigue down the stretch. To the surprise of a few, Gray took home MVP 1 honors with 20 points as she shot 40 percent from three-point land. Grace Berger won MVP 2 honors thanks to putting up 16 points with six boards and six assists.
Lastly, Maddie Siegrist took home the MVP 3 honors as she led Team Gray with 24 points while grabbing 13 boards in the win. Adut Bulgak notched her fifth double-double of the AU Basketball season with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
