Las Vegas Aces Current and Former Guards Participating in Unrivaled Basketball

Unrivaled Basketball, the 3×3 professional basketball league, will commence in Miami this Friday, Jan. 17. Two clubs will play that night on TNT: Mist BC will face Lunar Owls BC at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by Rose BC vs. Vinyl BC at 8:00 p.m. ET. Three current and one former Aces player will participate in the new league: Chelsea Gray (Point Gawd), Jackie Young, Tiffany Hayes (TIP), and Kate Martin (Money Martin). It was initially four Aces players; however, Kelsey Plum announced last year that she would no longer participate due to personal reasons and thanked Unrivaled for understanding her decision.

Unrivaled Basketball —Rose BC—Chelsea Gray

Let’s start with the Point Gawd Chelsea Gray, who will play for Rose BC under Head Coach Nola Henry. Vegas guards will dominate Unrivaled, and having Gray on Rose BC will help the team with pace, unexpected passes, and points. Gray will help facilitate Angel Reese (305 Barbie), Brittney Sykes (Slim), Kahleah Copper (Kah), Azurá B. Stevens, and Lexie Hall. Rose BC will be hard to beat in 3×3. Having a point guard like Gray assures Rose BC will dominate in the paint with Reese and long-distance shooters like Hall and Copper, who can attack and shoot from beyond the arc.

Gray finished the 2024 regular WNBA season with 8.6 points per game, 4.9 assists, and 26 minutes per game; she played 27 of 40 games last season. Gray is efficient in shooting, finishing the season with 40.8% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range. She can play for long periods and score at any given moment.

Unrivaled Basketball —Laces BC—Jackie Young—Tiffany Hayes—Kate Martin

The Laces BC has familiar faces who have played together for a year or more. Jackie Young, Tiffany Hayes, and Kate Martin played together with the Aces last season—three guards who can attack, score, and defend the ball. Having Young, Hayes, and Money Martin on one team is lethal. They know each other well and understand each other’s weaknesses and strengths, which will only help the Laces BC win games—three quick guards perfect for 3×3. Speaking of 3×3, Young is familiar with it, having won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. An advantage for the Laces BC is having Young, who knows the ins and outs of 3×3 basketball.

Jackie Young: finished the 2024 WNBA season with 15.8 points per game, 5.3 assists, 4.4 total rebounds, 43% from the field, 86.7% from the free-throw line and played 37 games out of 40 last season.

Tiffany Hayes: first year with the Aces, finished with 9.5 points per game, 2.1 assists, 2.8 total rebounds, 50% from the field, 40.2% from three and played 33 games out of 40 last season.

Kate Martin: Rookie season with the Aces (former Ace now), she finished with 2.6 points per game, 0.9 assists, 1.6 total rebounds, 30.7% shooting from the field, 35.5% from three, and nearly perfect from the free-throw line at 91.7%. Martin played 34 games out of 40 last season. She would have been an offensive weapon for the Aces if given a chance to play more minutes. Martin only played 11.5 minutes per game and started two games with the Aces.

The Laces BC are under Head Coach Andrew Wade and the rest of the roster is the following:
