New WWE Women’s United States Championship Brings Excitement…and Challengers

Without question, the WWE is a roster that features some of the most talented female superstars in professional wrestling. Now, these superstars in the company will have a new singles championship to compete in besides the Women’s World Championship and WWE Women’s Championship. SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis introduced the WWE Women’s United States Championship.

That being said, the question remains about who will be the inaugural champion. Below are five superstars that could answer said question.

Michin

Michin has been one of the most hardworking superstars in the women’s division his year, facing all comers. Fans love her work in the ring as she leaves it all in the squared circle. The Fontana, California native doesn’t have a single title on her resume but should be seen as a favorite given her work.

Seeing her win the Women’s United States Championship would send a message that hard work truly does pay off in and out of the ring.

Chelsea Green

For Chelsea Green, no one in the women’s division of WWE epitomizes the E in the company’s name (Entertainment). She was in this year’s Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match and arguably put on a show in front of her native country of Canada.

Whether it’s making garbage fashion or showing off her talents as a superstar, Green is well deserving of the Women’s United States Championship. All things considered, her reign will be far from disappointing should she win it.

Naomi

Here, Naomi is a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and a Women’s Tag Team Champion. Like Green, she was in the Women’s Money In The Bank match. The first-ever WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal winner has shown she can take on all the women’s division can give. Naomi would do the same with the Women’s United States Championship. One thing is for certain: she will have everyone feeling the GLOW as champion.

Shayna Baszler

Since being on the main roster, Shayna Baszler has yet to have a singles title but is a former Women’s Tag Team Champion. The two-time NXT Women’s Champion strikes fear into any opponent she stands across from. She is now with superstars Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark as part of the Pure Fusion Collective stable. For Baszler, winning the Women’s United States Championship is a way of rewarding her work while potentially adding a storyline within the stable.

Zelina Vega

When looking at Zelina Vega, her run in WWE has had some ups and downs. For example, she won the inaugural Queen’s Crown Tournament and is a former Women’s Tag Team Champion. However, the Queens, New York native has yet to win a singles championship despite coming close on several occasions. Vega has fans wanting her to get that push and winning the Women’s United States Championship could do it.

Honorable Mentions

Additionally, other superstars who should be considered include Natalya and Piper Niven. In the case of Natalya, is a first-ballot WWE Hall of Fame and is a cornerstone of the WWE Women’s Division. Putting the Women’s United States Championship on her would be something special given her impact.

Niven has shown how much of a force she is in the ring and being with Green as a dynamic duo is great television. Yet, having the Women’s United States Championship would make it even better.
