The game was pretty much over in the first quarter when Oregon led 26-13. At halftime, the Ducks led 50-27, and it was a warp. The Ducks shot 46.4% from the field and 53.8% from three-point land. Oregon pretty much got any shot they wanted against the Bears. The Ducks also did an outstanding job getting to the free-throw line connecting on 20 of 26 free-throw attempts. In addition, Oregon did a great job sharing the basketball totaling 21 assists.
Oregon held California to 29.4 from the field and 25% shooting from beyond the arc. They also won the rebound battle against Cal 45-34. The Ducks’ largest lead in the game was 37 points.
Sydney Parrish and Te-Hina Paopao led Oregon in scoring with 21 points apiece. Parrish shot 7-10 from the field and 7-10 from beyond the arc. Paopao shot 8-13 from the field and 4-5 from three-point land. Both players were outstanding and could not be stopped. Endiya Rogers, the second-leading scorer for Oregon, struggled from the field, going 2-9 but scoring 12 points. Nyara Sabally, Oregon’s leading scorer, scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Jayda Curry led Cal in scoring with 13 points, but she only shot 2-9 from the field. However, Curry did a great job getting to the free-throw line 8-12. Evelien Lutje-Schipholt added 10 points for the struggling Cal Bears. Although California is now 9-4 on the season and is on the rise, they must continue to play hard and put this game behind them.
Up next for Oregon is a matchup against Arizona State before they take on Arizona on Jan. 15th.
