Rachel Garcia proved why she is one of the best professional softball players in the country in AUX Softball this season. Garcia is the 2023 champion of AUX after leading two of the three series this season. It’s important to note that the final two games of the season were not played because of air quality from the wildfires in Canada.

Garcia had 1,392 points as she had a league-leading 220 MVP points. In addition, she led all pitchers in strikeouts (34) and opposing batting average (.213). What’s more, the 34 strikeouts are an AUX record. The pitcher was second on the leaderboard in the inaugural season last year.
In second place was infielder Aubrey Leach with 1,158 points. Unquestionably, her effort at the plate in AUX was special to watch. Leach tied for the most hits in AUX this season with 15 and second with 28 total bases. The former Tennessee Volunteers star was second behind Garcia in MVP points with 200. Last season, Leach finished 12th on the leaderboard.

Also, 200 of her stat points came via the long ball. The catcher tied with both Garcia and Leach with eight RBIs.
Jessi Warren Takes Home AUX Defensive Player of the Year Honors
Without question, the race for this award was tight, but Jessi Warren took the award. She had four double plays while having a .971 fielding percentage.

Will Rachel Garcia play in the Championship Season?
All four winners will return at Rosemont Park from July 28th to August 27th for the Championship Season of AU Softball. All things considered, any of these four superstars could win it all, given their performances.
