Rien que de filet!: NCAAW Daily Report (Saturday)

ESPN NCAA

The NCAAW regular season is quickly winding down. As there were no Top 25 games on Friday, I’m going to share a preview of some things to come. Personally, I’ll be covering the conference tournaments for the BIG EAST and the MVC.

Why, you might ask? One, I’m an unabashed UConn fan, which is no secret, and two, I attended a Missouri Valley Conference university, and still have a soft spot for the Midwest. Plus, I don’t think that the so-called “mid-major” schools get enough coverage. There are some quality teams and players that are deserving of more exposure.

Once we get into NCAAW March Madness, we’ll be covering the regional brackets all the way up to the Final Four. I’m going out on a limb here and am predicting some bona fide upsets. Of course, I can’t reveal my sources, but this tournament will be an exciting one. After that settles down, the much anticipated WNBA Draft will happen on Monday, April 15 at the famed Brooklyn Academy of Music, and will be broadcast live on ESPN at 7:30 PM ET.

When the WNBA season begins, I’ll be covering the Minnesota Lynx. I also have a few more opinion pieces in the works, but like Nona’s marinara sauce, you can’t rush it, so stay tuned.

Finally, I’d like to give a shout-out to all my colleagues here at BWS, who always go the distance to bring you the best coverage possible. This is what we love, and it is a pleasure to bring it to you.

And that, my friends, as they say, is that.’ — Martin Ruben.

About Martin Ruben

Aloha - The Dodgers were still in Brooklyn when I was a kid. I was never a Yankees fan. I'm a season ticket holder for the Minnesota Lynx, a big UConn WBB fan, and an avid Arsenal supporter. I consider myself a student of basketball. If I were to write an autobiography, it would be called SERIOUS FUN.
