At this point, AU Basketball has given us so much amazing basketball in just the first week. However, the third game in AU Basketball history was another one for the record books.
This was the first overtime game in AU Basketball history.
Team Carrington, led by Connecticut Sun guard/forward DiJonai Carrington, defeated Team Russell, led by Seattle Storm center Mercedes Russell by a score of 110-104 in double overtime.
In addition to this game, there have been six games in AU history that have gone to extra time/innings. Four of those games have been in softball in addition to one lacrosse game during the inaugural 2021 season.
