Without a doubt, AU Basketball gives you great basketball and Team Harrison versus Team Brown gave us just that. Overall, Team Harrison, led by Dallas Wings forward Isabelle Harrison, trailed by a 69-66 score in Game 15. However, Harrison converted a traditional three-point play to level the score at 69-all and spark a 16-5 run.
Next, that run gave Team Harrison an 82-74 lead with almost a minute left in regulation. Harrison and guard Courtney Williams combined to score 12 of the 16 points during the offensive explosion.
Surprisingly, Team Harrison overcame a 21-point shortfall to defeat Team Brown by a score of 86-81.
It’s important to realize that it’s the biggest comeback by a team in AU Basketball this season. Team Harrison scored more than Team Brown by 20 points (56-36) in the second half and shot 70.0 percent from the field at halftime.
Team Brown, led by guard Lexie Brown, scored 17 straight points spanning 3 minutes 24 seconds in the first quarter. What’s more, Brown’s squad took a commanding 27-6 lead. It is the largest scoring run by a team this season. Team Harrison outrebounded Team Brown by a 42-38 margin, including a 13-12 advantage on the offensive side.
Team Brown hit 11-of-24 (.458) from three-point range in the loss. In any event, it is the fourth time this year a team has converted 11 or more three-pointers in an AU Basketball game. After shooting 44.7 percent from the field in the first half, Team Brown was restricted to just 13-of-33 shooting (39.4 percent) afterward.
