The Bats Were on Fire on History-Making Evening in AUX

Without question, games three and four of AUX Softball have even more offense than the first two games of Series One. These players proved why they’re the best in the country as the bats lit up the day at Rosemont Park. Amid the offensive firepower was a great pitching effort by three of the best pitchers in the league. Now, let’s look at games three and four of Series One.

The first inning saw both teams combine for 12 runs, seven of which came from Morgan Zerkle’s squad. Those seven runs were the most in an inning in AUX history along with the five homers hit as a team. Rookie Sydney McKinney scored on a fielding error while Anissa Urtez hit an RBI single to start the game.

Next, Zerkle’s team got a three-run homer from Jessi Warren two-run homer from Nadia Taylor in the opening inning. Andrea FillerMia Davidson, and rookie Delanie Wisz each slammed a solo home run to round out Team Zerkle’s offense.

For Dejah Mulipola’s team, their five-run first inning consisted of Mulipola’s three-run homer and RBIs by Courtney Gano and Nicole MendesAubrey LeachTori Vidales, Mulipola, and Kelsey Stewart-Hunter had at least two hits in the loss.

All things considered, Rachel Garcia and her team decided to put on a show in every phase of this game. Garcia’s squad came out swinging, setting an AUX record with 18 hits, as six players had at least two hits. The team captain led the way with a double, bringing in two runs. She also hit a solo home run to help her cause.

In addition, Lilli Piper delivered four RBIs, including a three-run homer. Danielle Gibson and Sis Bates also left the yard for Team Garcia. In all, their five doubles set (you guessed it) another AUX record.

What’s more, the pitching trio of Garcia, Odicci Alexander, and Brooke Yanez combined to strike out 10 hitters, another AUX record.

Mulipola’s team had a hard time getting any offense going as Jordan Roberts, Vidales, and Leach each had RBIs in the loss.
