Tremendous Efforts Begin Series Two of AUX Softball

AUX Softball kicked off Series Two after a very competitive Series One with great individual and team performances. Moreover, three new captains took the field: Andrea Filler, Nadia Taylor, and Aubrey Leach. Games Seven and Eight saw a few rookies impact the game in the circle and at the plate. That being said, here’s a recap of the first two games of Series Two.

In this game, Filler’s squad trailed 1- 0 entering the fourth inning but scored in every inning afterward. Taylor Edwards scored on a fielding error in the fourth and Anissa Urtez delivered an RBI double the following inning. Next, Rachel Garcia slammed a two-run double to left center in the sixth.

Lastly, Amanda Lorenz hit a three-run home run while Jessi Warren hit a solo shot in the seventh. In addition, Garcia came through in the circle for Team Filler, tossing five innings while allowing five hits and a strikeout.

Dejah Mulipola and Delanie Wisz gave the lone two runs via solo homers for Taylor’s squad. Wisz and Sydney McKinney were the lone batters with two hits for Taylor’s team.

Leach’s squad went on the offense early, scoring all seven runs within the first four innings. To begin, Sam Fischer and Danielle Gibson each had an RBI in the first as Nicole Mendes scored on a throwing error in the second. Gibson went three for four at the dish.

Inning number four saw four runs as Jordan Roberts hit a solo homer while Leach had a two-run homer. Fischer brought in a run with a groundout to close out the scoring. Peyton St. George threw four-and-a-third innings in the circle, getting five strikeouts and allowing one hit. What’s more, Megan Faraimo got the first save of her professional softball career with a spotless seventh.

For Taylor’s team, Mulipola hit another home run on the day, delivering two runs across the plate. Abby Ramirez got an RBI while McKinney hit a single, getting two RBIs in inning number two. The final run for Team Taylor came off a sacrifice fly from Victoria Hayward.
