All things considered, the 2024 AU Pro Softball Championship Season has been defined by great singular efforts in every facet of the sport. The games have been fun for all fans, from clutch hits to defensive gems. The final doubleheader of Week Four did not disappoint as more great efforts were turned in. That being said, here is a recap of Games 23 and 24 of the Championship Season.
Game 23: The Circle Ruled the Day in This AU Pro Softball Matchup
Here, Megan Faraimo and the Purple Team faced off against pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl and the Blue Team as each was looking for their first win of the week. In the bottom of the first, Bubba Nickles gave Team Kilfoyl the early 2-0 lead with a two-run homer to left field.
Following a scoreless second, third, and fourth frames, Kilfoyl’s squad added three runs in the fifth. Infielder Baylee Klingler knocked in three runs with a double to right field.

That would be all of the offense as Team Kilfoyl won by a 5-0 score and got the win in their final game of Week Four. Klingler’s three RBIs and Nickles’ two RBI performances won them MVP 1 and 2 honors, respectively.
As for the MVP 3, that went to Kilfoyl as she went the distance for the fourth time in this Championship Season. The rookie right-hander allowed three hits and struck out five in the win, which impacted her place on the leaderboard.
Game 24: A Captain Reigns Supreme to Close Out the Week
All in all, defeating Amanda Lorenz and the Gold Team is a challenge as they have not allowed a single run this week. Sashel Palacios and Team Orange did not have a loss as well in this game with much to play for. The offense got underway in the second after a scoreless first inning thanks to Team Lorenz.
Victoria Hayward hit an RBI double as Lorenz slammed a two-run shot center field for the 3-0 lead. Next, Sydney Romero added an RBI with a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning. In the sixth, Team Gold added two more runs with RBIs from Lorenz and Romero. However, Anissa Urtez hit an RBI single to put Team Palacios on the board. In the end, Team Lorenz continued their winning ways as they won by a score of 6-1.

In this case, Sandercock went four innings, allowing two hits with four strikeouts. For Corrick, she allowed two hits with two strikeouts in the remaining three innings. Additionally, catcher Taylor Edwards earned the Defensive MVP award for the Gold squad.
The Final Captains of the AU Pro Softball Championship Season
Finally, the captains for the fifth and final week of the Championship season see a pair of familiar faces in the position throughout the season. Lorenz is the Gold Captain for the third straight week and her fourth overall in the role. Corrick made the huge jump on the leaderboard (13 spots) to captain the Orange Team.
Aleshia Ocasio is back as a captain as the former champion takes the lead of the Blue squad. Last but not least, Kilfoyl hangs on in the fourth spot to take the helm of Team Purple. The final week of the 2024 Championship Season gets underway on Friday, August 23rd at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois.
