With Week One of AU Pro Basketball in the books, fans in Nashville were treated to a little bit of everything. From seeing stellar offense to history made by one of the all-time players in AU Pro Basketball, it was a great opening week. Games Five and Six were the first games in which neither team reached 90 points but they had plenty of intrigue. Nonetheless, here is the recap of the final doubleheader in Week One.
Game Five: A “Plaisance” Experience In AU Pro Basketball
In this game, Sydney Colson of Team Purple was in search of their first win of the week against Team Blue, led by Kierstan Bell. The first half of this game saw Team Blue with a 34-32 edge over Team Purple. However, Colson’s squad came into the second half on a mission, winning it by a score of 50-29. All in all, Team Colson found themselves in the win column with an 82-63 win over Team Bell.
It was a clean sweep for Team Purple for MVPs of the game with the forward position. Theresa Plaisance won MVP 1 honors as she scored 22 points with six rebounds, her third 20-point game in her AU Pro Basketball career. Next, Alissa Pili garnered MVP 2 honors with 20 points and five boards while Maya Caldwell notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards.

Despite the loss, guard Odyssey Sims put up her record 31st 20-point game with 21 points while adding six rebounds for Team Blue. Also, forward Desi Rae-Young got a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Team Colson and Team Bell concluded Week One with identical 1-2 records.
Game Six: A Tale Of Two Halves
The final contest of Week One saw Team Orange, led by guard Evina Westbrook, looking to go a perfect 3-0 versus Isabelle Harrison and Team Gold. In the first half, Team Westbrook won each quarter and took a 40-33 lead over Team Harrison. Though, Harrison’s squad won each quarter of the second half 41-28 and the game 74-68.
As for MVPs, forward Maddy Siegrist and guard Lexie Brown won MVP 1 and MVP 2 honors, respectively. Siegrist added 16 points with eight boards as she added to her double-digit scoring streak, now at 15. Brown scored 16 points herself along with five rebounds as it’s her 27th game with 10+ points in AU Pro Basketball. Guard Sequoia Holmes added 11 points and seven boards in 31 minutes of action for Team Gold.

For Team Orange, it marked their first loss of the week but guard Crystal Bradford won MVP 3. Bradford had a near-double-double with 20 points and nine boards. What’s more, guard Kia Nurse is off to a great start to her AU Pro Basketball career with three consecutive games with at least 15 points. Nurse had 16 points, going 50 % from beyond the arc. Guard Tyasha Harris contributed 12 points for Westbrook’s team.
Week Two Captains for AU Pro Basketball
Shifting to Week Two of this AU Pro Basketball Season, there will be four new captains. Atop the leaderboard and leading Team Gold is Bradford. In charge of Team Orange will be Siegrist, Team Blue will be led by Nurse, and Harris will round out as the leader of Team Blue. These four players are the only ones with at least 1,400 points.

The action gets back into the swing of things on Feb 12 as Team Nurse faces Team Siegrist in the first game of the doubleheader at 11:30 a.m. ET. Team Bradford and Team Harris will square off at 8:00 p.m. ET. Both games can be watched on ESPN+.
