Week Two Of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball Begins Fast

Without question, Week One of Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball in Season Four was fun for all fans of the sport. The leaderboard is something to watch as the chase to become champion is still underway. Games Seven and Eight showed the importance of scoring in this league. That being said, here is a recap of the first doubleheader in Week Two of Season Four.

Game Seven: The “Odyssey” Continues In Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball

In this game, guards Kia Nurse (Team Blue) and Maddy Siegrist (Team Orange) faced off to open Week Two. It’s important to note that both players are first-time captains. The first quarter of this game was Team Blue with a 25-18 lead but Team Orange seized control after that. Siegrist’s squad winning the final three quarters added 180 win points and a win by a score of 97-79.

Once again, Odyssey Sims won MVP 1 honors with a near triple-double with 30 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Sims is now just the second player in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball with at least 20 MVP 1 honors. As for Siegrist, her 19 points and eight rebounds garnered her MVP 3 honors, getting MVP in all four contests this season. Isabelle Harrison scored 18 points and Maya Caldwell put up 12 points for the team.

What’s more, Team Orange and the 35-point effort in the second quarter are the most by any team in a quarter this season.

Despite being on the losing end, there were plenty of positives for Team Blue. First, Nurse continued her hot start to the season with a game-high 35 points as she won MVP 2 honors. Guards Evina Westbrook and Sydney Colson added 13 and 10 points for Nurse’s team, respectively.

Game Eight: A Tight Matchup From Start To Finish

This game between guards Tyasha Harris (Team Purple) and Crystal Bradford (Team Gold) was as close as close could get. Although Bradford’s team won the first quarter, Team Harris took the other three and an 87-81 win. Three of the four quarters were decided by two points as the second frame was a four-point margin. Like the first game of the doubleheader, a pair of first-time captains went head-to-head in Harris and Bradford.

MVP 1 honors went to guard Lexie Brown as she scored 15 points with seven boards in 30 minutes of action for Team Harris. teammate Rebecca Harris garnered MVP 3 honors with a 14-point effort on 57.1 % from the field. The Purple Team captain added 13 points while center Elizabeth Williams scored 12 points with eight rebounds. Also, forward Asia Taylor went for 11 points, and guard Christyn Willams had 12 in the victory.

Bradford notched another double-double in her Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball career. She went for 25 points and 18 rebounds, her 17th such game in the league. She crossed the 200 rebounds threshold in her AU Pro Basketball career. Guard Bria Hartley won MVP 2 honors thanks to her 18 points in 31 minutes of action. Additionally, Jaylyn Sherrod scored 11 points while forward Dorie Harrison had 11 points.
