Who Will Take Over in Dallas?

The Dallas Wings are one of the youngest teams in the WNBA headlined by star guard Arike Ogunbowale. Dallas looked to build off the momentum of just falling shy of the playoffs to become a playoff-contending team.

With the recent news, that the Wings and former head coach Brian Agler have gone separate ways, here are some coaches who may be up for the task.

Crystal Robinson

Robinson served as Agler assistant coach for the past two seasons. She has over three coaching experience within the WNBA working with the Mystics, Dallas, and Seattle who she won a championship with while being a part of their coaching staff in 2018.

Gary Kloppenburg

Kloppenburg who has been on the Seattle Storm Coaching Staff since 2017 has had coaching stints with many WNBA teams including the Phoenix Mercury, Los Angeles Sparks, and Indiana Fever. Kloppenburg also worked as the Head Coach of the Tulsa shock for two seasons. As an Assistant Coach, Gary Kloppenburg has won two Championships with the Seattle Storm.

Lindsey Harding

Since retiring from the WNBA Lindsey Harding has made for herself within the NBA. Harding who served as the Philadelphia 76ers scouting and player development coach for two seasons before taking a job with the Sacramento Kings. Harding was also the No.1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA draft.

Latricia Trammell

Dallas

With over 24 years of Coaching experience including a stint with the San Antonio Stars. Latricia Trammell is now a part of the Los Angeles Sparks known for her focus on defense; Trammell could be what the young Dallas squad needs to get them over the hump.

Pokey Chatman

Pokey Chatman’s coaching experience includes the WNBA, NCAA, and Euroleague. Chatman has served as head coach of the LSU tigers until her departure in 2007. Pokey would go on and coach the Chicago Sky for five seasons before coaching the Indiana Fever for three seasons. Chatman has a coaching record of 134-172.

Eric Thibault

Eric Thibault is one of the rising coaches in WNBA serving under his dad Mike Thibault. Eric Thibault could get his chance in the driver’s seat as the Dallas Wings next head coach. Thibault comes with Championship coaching experience as a member of the Washington Mystics coaching staff in 2019. Eric Thibault was also a finalist for the vacant New York Liberty Coaching job in 2019.

Jolette Law

Dallas
In her 23 years Jolette Law has helped develop 13 WNBA Draft Picks

With over 26 seasons of coaching experience; Jolette Law has been a member of Dawn Staley’s coaching staff at South Carolina since 2017. Before joining the Gamecocks staff, Jolette Law spent five seasons at the University of Tennessee; where she finished with a 128-46 record as a member of the coaching personnel. Law also coached under legendary coach C. Vivian Stringer for eight seasons before being promoted to associate head coach in 2012. Since joining the Gamecocks; Jolette Law has won a National Championship while helping develop 13 WNBA draft picks, including 2020 MVP Aj’a Wilson.

Who Will It Be

As we grow closer to the 2021 WNBA season Dallas will have an intensive coaching pool to choose from. And we all can’t wait to see who will be calling the plays on the Dallas Wings sideline.
