The WNBA announced yesterday the winners of a few regular-season awards. With the regular season in the record books and the playoffs in session, it is now time to look at these award winners and see how they play and coach in the playoffs. The winners of the MVP, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year were announced yesterday. Letโs look at the WNBA Awards Thus Far.
MVP: Aโja Wilson
Aโja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces was announced as the 2020 Most Valuable Player. After receiving 43 out of 47 first-place media votes, she received this award. Averaging 20.5 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2 BPG, she is a huge leader for the Aces. The Aces clinched the number one overall seed on Sunday with their win over the Storm, the Aces had an 18-4 regular-season record. Wilson has been a huge asset in only her third season. She has stepped into a leadership role and helped get her team to the top. Wilson and the Aces play the Connecticut Sun on Sunday at 1 pm ET, tune in to watch the MVP in action.

ROY: Crystal Dangerfield
Crystal Dangerfield of the Minnesota Lynx was announced as the 2020 Rookie of the Year. She is the first second-round draft pick to ever win the Rookie of the Year award. Dangerfield is averaging 16.2 PPG, 3.6 APG, and 2.0 RPG while playing 30 MPG. In last nightโs quarterfinal matchup win against the Mercury, Dangerfield had 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Despite her height at only 5โ5โณ, sheโs a force to be reckoned with. From originally not being in the starting lineup to earning her spot, Dangerfield for sure deserves the ROY award. Dangerfield and the Lynx match up against the Storm in the semifinals on Sunday at 3 pm ET, make sure to tune in to watch the ROY in action.

COY: Cheryl Reeve
The Coach of the Year is always a close race. This year HC for the Minnesota Lynx, Cheryl Reeve won. Reeve is an excellent coach, this time being her third time winning the COY honor. Reeve lost assets such as Seimone Augustus due to free agency, but that did not stop her from having a good pre-season. She picked up Mikiah Herbert-Harrigan and Crystal Dangerfield, later named ROY, in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She also picked up Sims, McCall, and Johnson. Reeve then coached the team to a 14-8 record where they landed the No.4 overall seed. The Lynx pulled off a win last night against the Mercury and will look to advance in a series with the Storm on Sunday. Reeve is an excellent coach who definitely deserves this honor.
