In a quick turnaround, the Minnesota Lynx head to Atlanta to face the Dream on Sunday. Atlanta has had a few days to rest and practice, while the Lynx have not. Whether or not that will be a factor is hard to predict, but perhaps after playing an afternoon game will have given the Lynx a few extra hours to regroup.
Atlanta’s first three games have all been relatively close matches. Led by Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus and Tina Charles, the Dream present themselves as a formidable opponent for a revitalized and determined Minnesota team. Napheesa Collier, along with newcomers Alanna Smith, Courtney Williams, Natisha Hiedeman and the always dangerous Kayla McBride bring a much improved defense and offensive attack.
Minnesota Lynx Have Been Tested Early On This Season
The Lynx have been tested with a pair of overtime games, winning one and barely losing the other. After a convincing win over the New York Liberty, the Lynx will look to add to their successes. The Dream will not make it easy.
Atlanta is still without the services of Jordin Canada, and Lorela Cubaj has only recently rejoined the team. Minnesota has lost Diamond Miller to injury for an indefinite period, but have recently received Dorka Juhász back into the fold. On paper, these are two evenly matched teams. The bench players for each team contribute with similar numbers.

Of course, and as we have seen around the league in these first few games, nothing is quite as predictable as it may have been in previous years. Both teams are coming off of wins, so the impetus to build on that will be equal. Whether or not fatigue is a factor for the Lynx is the unknown element. Regardless, I expect this to be a high scoring game. Right now, it’s a toss-up.
Each team will next play on Wednesday, with the Dream traveling to Washington and the Lynx playing host to Las Vegas.
And that, my friends, as they say, is that.’ — Martin Ruben.
