WWE Superstars Who Could Win the Women’s Royal Rumble

Without question, the Women’s Royal Rumble will have its surprises similar to its male counterpart. This event can change the trajectory of a WWE superstar’s career as was the case for Rhea Ripley, who won it last year. Ripley parlayed into winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship (now the Women’s World Championship) at WrestleMania 39.

Now, Ripley will wait to see who her opponent could be at the 40th edition of WrestleMania. There will be no shortage of competition in the match as 30 superstars will look to punch their ticket to the Grandest Stage of Them All. Here are three superstars who could do just that.

At one point, Bayley was the unquestioned leader of the faction Damage CTRL, but that is no longer the case. Bayley and Damage CTRL feels closer to a split and the Women’s Royal Rumble is an ideal spot for it to unfold. She mentioned that she wants the group to possess all the gold in WWE, including Ripley’s Women’s World Championship. Yet, a case can be made that Bayley is focusing on the other title, the WWE Women’s Championship.

Currently, that title is held by fellow Damage CTRL member IYO SKY. Other Damage CTRL members besides SKY: Kairi SaneAsuka, and Dakota Kai seem to be excluding the Grand Slam champion. The storyline is so good and would add another layer to it. The fact that Bayley has never won the event is something else to consider.

Becky Lynch

The Man is always in the mix at this time of the year.  Becky Lynch defeated 29 other superstars in 2019 and got her opportunity at WrestleMania 35. Lynch,  Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair made history when they were in the main event. She won the match, becoming “Becky Two Belts.”

Lynch against Ripley is a match perfectly suited for WrestleMania with a tease on Raw recently. A win by Lynch would make her the first two-time winner of the event, adding to her Hall of Fame resume. Never count her out in moments like this.

Bianca Belair

The EST of WWE, like Lynch, is looking to win the Women’s Royal Rumble for the second time by eliminating Ripley. What makes this pick interesting is that winning means Bianca Belair would face an opponent she knows well. Belair and Ripley faced off in NXT on multiple occasions, so the WrestleMania stage is fitting.

Belair and SKY have developed into a feud with captivating matches at previous premium live events. Damage CTRL also took her out of commission for a couple of months. Overall, another match between the two is in the realm of possibility.
